Cranial Helmet Treatment
We share information about our state-of-the-art helmets used in the treatment of infant skull deformities, plagiocephaly (crooked head), brachycephaly (crookedness of the back of the head) and helmet treatment after craniosynostosis surgery.
Suitable for which ages?
Babies between the ages of 4 months and 14 months are suitable for cranial helmet treatment. Babies’ skulls have the opportunity to improve with positioning, physical therapy and exercises before 4 months.
Since the growth rate of babies’ skulls slows down after the 14th month, we cannot fit helmets to babies after the 14th month.
Why is head deformity increasing?
The incidence of head shape deformities in babies increased after the safe sleep return program due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome*.
Today, more than 3% of newborn babies have severe or very severe head shape deformity. This rate is seen as close to 50% as mild and moderate deformity**.
The cranial shaping orthosis is lightweight and custom made. The inner part of the orthosis is round and allows the child to sleep and move without any problems.
*SIDS – Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. It often occurs if babies sleep on their stomachs.

How long is the treatment duration?
The duration of cranial helmet treatment is related to the age at which the baby starts cranial helmet treatment. In children where helmet treatment is detected early and helmet treatment is started early, helmet treatment is completed after 4 months, while in older children the treatment period can be extended up to 6 months.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO WEAR A HELMET FOR 23 HOURS FOR A SUCCESSFUL RESULT
.
The orthosis is worn 23 hours a day to prevent any skull deformities from occurring. Wearing the orthosis for a short period of time prevents the success of correcting the optimal skull deformity. Any use schedule shorter than 23 hours may cause problems and reduce treatment success. The helmet should remain on the head for 23 hours, even in the last period of treatment.
CranioWell – Talee
With clinical experience and technical development, our revolutionary environmentally sensitive muscles
are BREATHABLE
Perforated structures allow the orthosis to breathe, thus
allowing ventilation and reducing the baby’s sweating. We leverage the full potential of 3D printing to make
LIGHTWEIGHT Talee. THIN Talee is thin to increase the comfort of babies. Your baby will soon forget that he is wearing a helmet .
